Week 6: Graphing

On tuesday this week we will be playing a graphing game in the LMC on the computers during class.  After playing the game answer some of these questions for me.  What graphs or concepts did you have difficulty with?  What graphs were easier for you?  What level/world did you get to in the game?  What did you like the most about playing the game?  Did playing the game help you understand the concept of graphing motion better?  If you were absent on tuesday and would like to try the graphing game in your spare time visit the wesite www.theuniverseandmore.com.  As always make an original post and comment on someone elses post and finish by 10 pm sunday.

  1. I had difficulty on the graph that didn't allow you to see where you we're going. The graphs with the ice cream were the easiest. I got to level 20. What I liked about the game was that it was basically a chill day. Playing the game did help me understand graphing better.

    2. OMG! SO DID I! well actually all of them were difficult for me! haha but not being able to see was like imposible.

    3. We both had difficulty on the graph together since we were next to each other, but it was a great day RIGHT JOCELINE?

  2. The game was not too hard, just those few levels with that little red guy messed me up! I made it all the way to level 21. The game actually did help me understand how to do graphing better.

  3. I absolutly hated the game! It was so hard:/ i just felt like punching the screen especially when i couldnt see and had to move the little dude at the same time. I did laugh at myself from time to time but i was getting frustrated.

    2. Don't worry, your not the only one that hated that part.

    3. Oh my god yes! im not the only one who thought controling the velocity was frustrating jaja

  4. The game was fun for me, but i would get frustrated a lot, I had a difficult time passing the levels where you could not see where you we're going. All the levels where pretty easy for me (Except the ones where I could not see). I got to world 2. Playing the game did help me understand the concept of graphing motion a little more. Overall the game was fun and seeing other people play the game made me laugh, they where wayyy to into it.

  5. I didn't like the game when they wouldnt let me see where I was going! But I have to admit, I was GOOD at that game. I think playing it really did help me understand the whole concept better.I stayed on world 1 the whole time because each world have like 12464877735 levels!

  6. I was doing so good but then I got to the level where you had to start using the keyboard and arrows and it seemed that the whole world turned against me. I couldn't pass that level to save my life. Although it was difficult at some points the game really helped me understand slopes a lot better and now I don't have much difficulty.

    1. Yes, I agree with your statement about being difficult, but there was an easy way to beat the level. All you had to do was to keep an eye on the seconds and distance at the time and your done. Though is hard at first, all you needed to do is practice and you'll get it.

    2. I agree with you LORENA. I remember that at some point i just wanted to give up the game because it was getting hard and i would have rather have done something else, RIGHT LORENA?

  7. I really didn't like the game. The first few levels were easy but then when I couldn't see where I was going on the graph, it just made it really hard! And then when I had to use the arrows on the keyboard, I just hated the game even more. But the game did help me, once I learned how to play.

  8. I hate the graphs where you coulnt see the graph you were making until the very end! It was so frustrating. I hated controling the little thingies speed. The first levels were easy I got to like level 10 i think. I think the distance over time graphs are the easiest. I have to admit the game did help me learn more about graphs.

  9. The game was fun especially the end of world1, where you had to build or catch the ice cream. You had to run left to right to catch the ice cream and the is what made it funny. Though world2 was a little of a challenge, where the graph had a curve line having the calculations of initial position, initial velocity, and acceleration which made it weird. I got to world2-2. World1 was the easy area but world2 would had been a challenge if I would of played it all the way through it.

    1. Yes, Jorge the end of world one was fun :D and once I got to world two the levels were very challenging, but none the less fun. You should have kept going man.

  10. I liked the game , it was fun and something different then being in class all day long lol. Well basically everyone got stuck on the one where the couldn't see where the little guy was going... and for me it was really hard I stayed stuck on that one till like the end of class cause I got so fustrated. And then I went to world 2 and tried those , then the bell rang. So yea it was different but I learned some things..

  11. I enjoyed the game for a while. Once you couldn't see the line and had to use the keyboard! Aqh too hard to pass! Other than that the game really helped understand pretty much what was going on.

    1. I thought that was really fun! Even though it did fustrate me easily.

  12. Well i got to level 21. It was actually real easy. I think the only trouble ones were the ice cream ones which i think had to do with acceleration. The easiest ones were the time vs velocity ones i think.

  13. I got to level 5 on the second world if I remember correctly. I like the game because it gave a well visual understanding of how velocity, acceleration are in relation to the time, displacement, ect. The game wasn't to difficult, I like going through the levels getting challenged more and more as I got further and further. Over all, the lesson was good, and I feel it is something you should do with your students every year.
