Welcome to physics with schramm. We will be using this blog all year to help us make real world connections with what we are learning in our class. A new blog will be posted every monday for you to answer. You must answer the main questions(s) and reply to one students post every week. You will have until 10pm on Sunday each week to complete your blog assignment. I am so excited about this school year and I can't wait to read your posts.

Week 10-Newton's Laws and Forces
This week we have been discussing forces and Newton's Laws. Forces are at work all around us and we can see this in what happens to us everyday. For this weeks blog I want you to explain how one or more of Newton's Laws happens either to you or around you during your day. Remember you must post an original comment and comment on someone elses post. As always keep it clean and have a great week!

In the mornings the lunch ladies push the breakfast cart stations to different parts of the school, this is an example of Newton's second law of motion because the heavier the cart is the more force the lunch lady has to use to make it go faster.
ReplyDeleteThe cart with the breakfast seems lighter than the one with the sub sandwiches. so more force must be used on the one with the subs.
DeleteThis is true it also depends on whether you use a big cart or a small one. That will affect the force needed!
DeleteYea what ever is on it does change the force needed to push, but also the way you're pushing it has to do with how much force needed.
DeleteWhile going somewhere in our car everyday the force of the road on locked wheels provides the unbalanced force to change the car's state of motion, but there is no unbalanced force to change our own state of motion. Therefor you continue in motion, sliding along the seat in forward motion. A person in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by the unbalanced force of a seat belt. This is an example of Newton's First Law.
ReplyDeleteI agree like when five people are on top of a red bus driving through a crowd of people.
DeleteI agree and this is why we wear a seatbelt. Seatbelts prevent our bodies from continuously moving forward incase the car comes to an unexpected halt.
DeleteWhen I am playing the drums and I use a pair of 5B sticks I use more Force than when I use 5A beeboop's because the 5B have a greater mass than the other ones. (second law)
ReplyDeleteHow many hours do you practice with them?
Deletewhen I stomp on the foot pedal the beater will keep moving on a a forward direction until hits the drum head stopping the motion of the beater. ( first law)
ReplyDeleteWhen i play tennis, the ball must come down due to gravity.gravity isn't the only unbalanced force acting on it though.the ball keeps traveling the same direction until i hit it with my tennis racket causing it to stop and travel another direction.this is Newtons 1st law
ReplyDeleteThe same in soccer the ball keeps moving untill a person from either team stops it.
DeleteWhen my brother is sleeping (object at rest) I come at him and push him off (unbalanced force). Newtons 1st law of motion: object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
ReplyDeleteWhen practicing soccer, we often partner pass, when I kick the ball to my partner she stops its motion with her foot. This is an example of newtons 1st law.
ReplyDeleteWhen I play soccer in soccer class I always apply force by kicking the ball. This is the 2nd Newton law because mass times acceleration equals the force of the kick.
ReplyDeletecallate jorge...the ball you kick doesnt have that much of acceleration because of the force you apply.
DeleteI left my chicken wings up everyday and eat it thats the 1st law. The chicken wing will stay in the bowl until I pick it up anld eat it.
ReplyDeleteI meant *lift
DeleteWow Erin you would be the one to put something like that. But your right! (:
DeleteLol Erin ! But Thats True!
DeleteAt dance practice we lift up a girl. This is an example of Newton's 1St law.the girl doesn't move until we use the force to pick her up
ReplyDeleteExactly and the girls we lift have some muscle weight or something but they be heavy.
DeleteiM a very athletic student and one of the many sports I play is football. One of the laws that apply to football is Newtons second law.(Force= MAss x Acceleration). The acceleration of the football after being kicked depends on the force applied and the weight of the ball.
ReplyDeleteWhen I play soccer the acceleration of the ball depends on the force I place on it and its weight. The harder I kick it the faster it will go. Of course if I kicked a bowling ball its weight would prevent. it from traveling as fast as my soccer ball. This serves as an example of Newton's second law.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about using soccer as the second law of motion, great explanation.
DeleteWhen i come to use the computer, and its asleep, i have to move the mouse around. This is an example of the 1st law, the mouse stays at rest until an unbalanced force acts on it.(me)
ReplyDeleteIn Marching Band We Stay Still In Till We Change The Force And Move To Our Spots as the 1st law we stayed at rest intill an unbalanced force acted on it.
