Since many of you are still struggling to keep up with the notes and the assignments, we need to do some reflecting. So, for this weeks blog, you must answer ALL of the following questions:
1. What does PreAP mean? That is, what makes a class PreAP? How does a PreAP class compare to a regular level class?
2. What are the benefits of being in a PreAP class vs. a regular class?
3. You must give me a valid argument for why you should continue to be in a PreAP class. You must use supporting statements. What are you willing to do to stay in a PreAP class? What do you need to change going forward to be more successful?
Remember, the work load will not decrease. Starting December 1st, there will only be makeup work for missed assignments. In order to get credit for the makeup assignment it must be completed within ONE WEEK of the missed assignment. There is NO MORE EXTRA CREDIT after December 6th. The last day for test corrections will be December 3rd. If you are absent, you are expected to check the make-up work box at the front of the room when you return or edmodo for any work you may have missed. You should know and be comfortable with the routine and the expectations of this class by now, so this safety net should no longer be needed. If you do not give me a good argument for your remaining in PreAP, you will be moved to a regular level class OR you will remain in my class, but be re-classified as a regular level physics student and the work you will receive will be that of a regular physics class. If you have questions, you need to ask me BEFORE the due date. Remember, if you have trouble posting to the blog website, you can email your responses to seschramm@aldine.k12.tx.us, schrammisawesome@gmail.com or respond in edmodo. In order to receive full credit, you must post an original comment and reply to at least one other comment. Happy Blogging!
To me, a Pre-AP class is one step ahead of a Regular class. In regular classes you get less homework and in-school work. You also learn at a slower pace compared to a Pre-AP class. A Pre-AP class is for a higher GPA, and to help the students be able to prepare for an AP/DC class if that option is available, which means that Pre-AP is an introduction to college-level classes. I want to be in this Pre-AP class because I feel I can learn more in here than in a regular class, and by no way can I be able to conform to an AP Physics class, so I feel that Pre-AP serves as good middle ground for me. I also want to be ahead of the students in regular classes grade point wise. I am willing to study more and stay after school if need be. I personally feel as if I need to improve on my note taking, actually be able to write legible to later come back and read the notes I took.
ReplyDeleteI also think that by reading over my notes at home will as well help me!
DeleteReading over our notes does help, especially when you are doing your homework. I would recommend taking your notebook home because its very beneficial
DeleteTrue I agree with most of this. Also something that may help is thinking this way. You don't really comprehend something until you are able to teach or explain to someone else so you could also help yourself by helping someone else. Reading notes could be affective to a certain extent sometimes it doesn't suffice
DeleteYeah reading over notes also talking to other classmates because they sometimes understand things better than us and can explain in a way we understand.
DeleteI to think that by studying and staying after school one can go over or learn more about the information one didn't fully comprehend.
Deletepre-ap is a class that prepares you to be successful for an AP class it is a class that was made for students who show a high interest and knowledge in that subject, the difference in a pre-ap class to a regular class is that we go more in depth into a topic and in a faster amount of time. In a pre-ap class we should be able keep up with the amount of topics the teacher teaches in one period of class. The benefits of being in a pre-ap class is the challenge that you get from it rather then having many things handed to you like in a regular class, you get to see how far you can go with you're knowledge and further extend it as well, also the grade point average is higher. The reason to why I should deserve to stay in this class is because even when I do not understand a topic I stay after school to ask questions. I do not just leave my doubts unanswered from any topics, I would be willing to further extend my commitment and do exactly what I keep doing, as in staying after school. This that I should probably change to be more successful in physics would have to be to studying more outside of school not just in tutorials or in class.
ReplyDeleteStudying between classes and on spare time can also help but it is well that you are commiting your time to understand material that you did not grasp the first time !
DeleteI think studying more outside school will help me alsooo!!!
Deletenicely said
DeleteYeah, I want to ask questions and I will also stay for tutorials.
DeleteI agree with you, and I also believe that after school tutorials could really help me.
DeleteI completely agree with you. Especially on the studying outside of school.
Deletei also believe that staying after school for tutorials will actually help me

ReplyDeleteA Pre-AP class is a higher level of understanding and a class that gives an opportunity to learn at a faster pace. A Pre-AP class consists of students who are capable of keeping up with their work and maintaining an A or B average. A Pre-AP class differentiates from a regular class because its gives students a chance to test their ability to learn at a faster rate. The benefits of being in a Pre-AP class are being able to challenge yourself and receive a higher grade point average. The reason I should stay in Pre-AP class is because if I were put back in regular I wouldn't be challenged and would have to sit in a classroom learning what I have already been taught. There is a reason why I was put in Pre-AP and that's because I'm capable of learning the material at a faster pace and going more into depth with the concept. I will work hard to succeed in this class, by studying more and asking questions. Also I think it will be beneficial to start a study group which will help us all.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, a regular class wont be as a challenge needed. it will be relaxed and unecessary to even take. everybody needs a challange and should be pushed to work
DeleteI never even thought of Pre-AP as more of a challenge than Regular but you're absolutely right! In a regular class, those who have been in Pre-AP/AP since Freshman year would feel as if they know what the teacher is teaching and most likely not pay attention in class. However, some would most likely excel in Regular classes not only because they have already learned the material, but because the slower pace, for some, is a much better way of learning.
DeleteStarting a study group is a good idea.
DeletePre-AP means a class one level above a regular class that will prepare you for an AP or DC class in the future. Pre-AP classes are classes to bring up your GPA and will have more work then a regular class.
ReplyDeleteI should be continuing in Pre-AP classes because I never had the opportunity to be in a Pre-AP class until I got to High school. I have never failed anything and I'm not going to start now. I know I have a lot of activities going on at the same time but I'm trying my best to keep everything organized but sometimes the over lap and you know I'm trying my best because if not I could have gone out of that class along time ago.
I'm am also willing to study more in the spare time in between my activities and turn in everything on time or early and to come to tutorials so I can have extra help on certain things I didn't understand that day.
DeleteA preap class consists of more determined and achievious students from a regular class. regulas classes are slower and the students tend to be more lazy. A preap class moves into topics in a deeper text and a less amountof time with more assignments and homework. the benefits of being in preap physics is not only having the opportunity yo get a higher gpa but you also give your self a challange to your abilities. I hace not been at my finest performance in physics but I believe that I should remain in preap physics because I am willing to put in work, I have Stayed a couple of times, and when I dont get something I make sure I ask one of my classmates for help. I go over my work in order to understand and I will work even harder once coming back from break. in matter of fact, I am willing to stay afterschool and pay extra attention i class or even ask one of the tutors to help me.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteI agree with you also
DeleteNot only doing extra work to help us but a preap class means that students are more prone to work harder and going into more depth into the topic. More hands on such as experiments than just an explanation and notes. Regular students are not used to having to work as hard as preap students. Although the work maybe eaiser in a regular class it might also be boring as well. The benefits are not only a higher grade point average and more hands on experience but also going more into depth and doing experiments. To remain in a preap class I am certain I will be. Since I do attemtp to turn in extra credit and test corrections as soon as possible even if it means missing an extracuricular actvity . Since school work always comes first rather than after school actvties. As to changing my study habbits instead of studing right before bed maybe studing through out the day in bits and pieces can be more benficial. During the break is a wonderful time to catch up on all of the homework due for each class. Possibly even study a bit for each class.
ReplyDeleteI agree with studying throughout the day because it keeps the material fresh in my mind.
DeleteI think it would be better to study throughout the day instead of at night and it is a smart idea to study during the break.
DeleteI agree with you! It would be better to study throughout the day!
DeletePre-Ap means to be advanced in a way. It also means that a person is ablo to maintain a 80% or higher in an advanced class. It's also a pre advancement placement before taking AP if its provided for that subject. In a regular class less subjects are covered and it goes in a way slower pace than in pre-ap. Being in pre-Ap is an advantage rather than in regular because the grade point average is higher and more concepts are covered in which helps expand a person's knowledge. I should continue in pre-ap because I can handle the challenge of being in pre-ap. Also this is my first year in advanced and I'm good at following instructions and keeping up with assignments. I'm willing to stay after school more often and keep attending Saturday school when its provided. In order to be more successful I need to study more for my tests and also review the concepts learned in school at home.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!
DeletePre-Ap is a level above Regular. It's where the class is at a more rigorous level and the student is expected to adapt at a swifter pace. The benefits of being in a Pre-Ap class is that students are able to get more points in their rank and it appeals better on a college resume. My argument on why I should stay in a Pre-Ap class is because I am willing to do anything to maintain a high grade. I will stay after school for tutorials, I will study for all my tests, and I will take every opportunity that lies in my path. My purpose is to be the best I can be, and that is exactly what I plan to do.
ReplyDeleteMe too, I'm gonna try harder. I have been trying in class, but i really haven't been doing my best.
DeletePreAp means that you are a little higher than regular but not as advanced as AP. There's more homework and more advanced questions on test in a preap class rather than a regular class. Preap is better than being in a regular class because you get to challenge yourself, bring up your gpa, and prepare yourself for college.
ReplyDeleteI should continue to be in pre-ap because I will do whatever it takes to at least maintain an A. I am willing to go to tutorials, study, and make sure I turn in all my work. To be more successful I need to change my laziness, procrastination, and maintain a positive attitude.
I agree with that laziness, procrastination, and positive attitude. I need that too.
DeleteI agree with tutorials they help a lot :)
DeleteYou should also consider Saturday tutorials, it's an extra 2 hours of help, if you ever need it. (:
DeletePre-Ap is a class level that goes more in depth in the material being learned in a certain subject. The class goes at a faster pace and is more challenging. The benefits of being in a Pre-Ap class rather than a regular class, is that you earn a greater grade point average, if you do good. And it also prepares you for a AP/DC class. What I think validates me being in a Pre-Ap class is that even if I don't understand something, I manage to keep my grades up and coming up with study skills to generate questions and ask you later. I go home and try to figure out what I don't understand, then if I do it wrong, at least now I know what I did wrong. I want to stay in this class because I know I can do the work. To further be successful in these classes I will study more, reword my notes to were I can understand them better, and stay for tutoring.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it Sandra.
DeleteA Pre-Ap class not only goes over the material but analyzes all aspects of the subject. The teacher will have much higher expectations for a Pre-Ap student than a regular, therefore will give assignments that are at a much greater difficulty level. Compared to a regular class, a Pre-Ap class will be expected to do some tasks by themselves and not always being dependent on the teacher for class reminders. The benefits of being in a Pre-Ap class is that it allows you to receive higher grade points than a regular class and can really boost your GPA. The work given prepares you for more advanced classes (AP/DC). I want to stay in this Pre-Ap class because there are no downsides to taking this course, only upsides grade-wise. I try my best on completing all the work given to keep my grade up.To continue in this class I am willing to stay after school as much as I have to and asking for help when I don't understand a new topic we go over. Something that will help me be more successful is more studying in my spare time. I will be more focused in class and not procrastinate on my assignments so I don't do the assignments in a rush and take time to comprehend everything.
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to do the same
Deletethat smart to study at any spare time ( not just during tutorials). I saw a friend with some motion map flash card and at the time the test for motion maps was the next day so was quizzing myself with them and it made me feel a little more confident in the test.
DeleteI agree and I need to stop procrastinating as well and get my work done on time

ReplyDeletei so agree
DeletePre-Ap is an advanced course to help better prepare students for college. What differentiates a pre-ap class from a regular class is that students pre-ap learn a topic in a shorter amount of time and it's a bit more challenging. Students in pre-ap classes get more homework and class work and they are a step ahead of the regular classes. The advantages of being in a pre-ap class is that it betters your gpa and it gets you prepared for more college level classes. The reason why i should stay in this pre-ap class is because I work hard and try my best to keep up with all the assignments and get good grades. I'm willing to stay after school more often to get help with whatever i don't understand and take the time to study at home.
ReplyDeleteA pre-AP class prepares you for college and is more challenging than a regular class. There is more homework and you are expected to do more like go to tutorials when you don't understand something. The advantages in being in a pre-AP class is that you are more prepared for college and it helps your GPA. I feel like I should stay in pre-AP because I am willing to stay for tutorials to get extra help and to do all my work and study more. I will have to start studying more before a test to make sure I do well on it.
ReplyDeleteWow Ashley, very well said.
DeleteA PreAP class is a class that prepares students for college level courses (for example next year seniors will be able to take AP Physics, college level). The work given is suppose to challenge the student to stay engaged with the course and to enhance and apply their critical thinking. For it is not so much that the work is complicated but more of the fact that the course is suppose to keep the students studying and always on their toes. PreAP classes differs from regular in many ways. For starter in PreAP classes there is an abundant of work and normally the teachers walk you through step by step in a regular classes but in PreAP the students are expected to be able to listen once and follow directions, at least that is normally the expectations. The benefits of being in a PreAP class is that it helps with ranking GPA and the original GPA. Plus having an advance class may get colleges to take recognition upon a student for taking courses that were at a higher level compare to other kids. I, as individual, should and wish to continue taking this advance class because I don't give up easily and I am always willing to accepted a challenge that is set before me. Advance classes has always made me feel complete and if I were to get pulled out of one I would be frustrated and tremendously disappointed at myself just for the fact that I'll know that there is something greater and better than where I'm at now. I am willing to put the effort into this class and ask questions when need. I will refuse to make excuses for incomplete work. I will meet up to the expectation this course requires to be successful.
ReplyDeleteA Pre-Ap class is more advance than a regular class but under an AP class. One benefit of being in a pre-Ap class is that it gives you more points toward your GPA. i am in pre-ap classes because regular classes are to slow for me and i feel like i'm in a room full of dumb people. It's not that i can't handle being in a pre-ap class it's just that i've let myself slack these past few weeks. Trust me, because if i really wanted to i could ace this class with no problem. i just need to get my head back in the game and start focusing again.
ReplyDeleteA pre-ap class to me is a class that helps prepare you for the ap class that may be available after you pass the pre-ap class. A class is pre-ap and different from a regular class because you have a greater responsibility with homework and cover more information at a faster pace. A pre-ap class is more beneficial because we don't spend a lot of time on one single unit and you learn more about the subject being taken. To stay in this class I am willing to come to tutorials when I need to and make time to study at home or at school. I always need to do my homework and ask for help when I don't understand something. I will look through my notes more often and take my journal home to study when I really don't understand a unit.
ReplyDeleteI agree with studying the material when it is freshbon our minds.

ReplyDeletePre-ap is a advance course class. It works faster with more work to help us get ready for college course classes. Pre-ap classes get more grade points for the class due to there being more homework and more in-class work with harder questions to develop our critical thinking skills.
ReplyDeleteBenefits could be being in class with other students that work at the same fast pace. Also a higher grade point that would take account in the ranking gpa.
I believe that i should stay in the pre-ap course, because i always try to maintain my grades above an 85%. I've stayed after school to get help, and also try to receive help from you during school if you're available. I've been one of your few students that don't fail your test. I will start taking my notebook home and study the areas i am having difficulties with. I'm going to change the procrastinating part of me because im usually working on your work last minute when you have given us days to day. Also ill make sure that my work is on time.
What PreAP means is advanced placement. For a class to be pre ap, it requires more thinking, faster pace lessons, and more work than a regular class. Regular classes are slower and require less work/homework. Benefits for being in pre ap, is that you learn at a rate that better fits you, if it does, and to get ready for the AP version of the class. I believe that i should continue to be in pre ap because it is easier for me to learn in an environment with others who learn at the same pace. I think that I belong in pre ap, and not regular, because I am able to do all of the work assigned. I can handle being in an advanced class, to stay in one, I am willing to go to tutorials as often as it takes to master something, including on Saturdays. I need to make sure i complete all of my homework and in class assignments as correctly as possible.
ReplyDeletePre-ap means that you do more than is need to be done without having to be constantly reminded. A pre-ap class is supposed to have an environment of well behaving and getting the work done without all the hassle of lossong focus 2)The benefits of a pre-ap class is not going so slow and learning a little more of the basics on the subject with the honor of labs 3)I should continue in pre-ap class because I take any advantage I get in order to achieve in rhe class I actually study and even though my journal got lost I managed to keep an A. I need to change the fact that I do procrastinate a little and that does throw me behind from where I want to be I meed to work faster with making as little mistakes as possible I am willing to study and study until I get a fair 100 on a phusics test
ReplyDeletei agree & like that you have a goal to make a 100 on a test (:
DeleteWhy thank you(:
DeleteA Pre-AP class is an advanced class. There is more work, but there is a greater payoff than if you were in a regular class. You get more of an GPA advantage in Pre-AP then if you are in a regular class. I think i should stay in the class because i have done so well. I have not struggled and i have accomplished a lot.I do need to study more and i will in order to stay in the class.
ReplyDeletePre-Ap means that it is a class that moves faster than that of regular, expects a 100 percent of our focus and we should take it serious. There are kids in a regular classes that deserve to be in pre-ap, so we should not take it as a joke. In a regular class the lessons go slower and may be are not as hard. Being in pre-ap allows me to get a little taste of what college is like. Time goes by very quickly and the more we see of what college could be then the better. I think I should stay in pre-ap for this reason. I am not the brightest bulb, but I feel that if I stay here it can just help me evolve. I suck at asking for help, so I will need to improve my skills in speaking to my classmates about the subject. Also, I will have to stay for tutorials more often and ask the teacher my questions. I will have to start focusing more in my class and actually look at my notebook instead of being lost.
ReplyDeleteto be placed in a pre-ap class means you were able to keep your grade high in a regular class . pre-ap is an advanced class which requires students to have certain characteristics like responsibility , maturity , and self-discipline. one of the main differences in pre-ap & regular classes is that in regular classes most of the student don't care for school but in pre-ap classes most of the students care about school and actually want to learn. the good thing about being in a pre-ap class is you don't have to worry about not being able to learn because other kids known as the "class clowns" are wasting your learning time. Honestly , i enjoy being in a pre-ap class i havnt been in a regular science class since 7th grade and when i was in a regular science class i got in trouble alot because it was to easy for me so i had time to goof around. i do admit that i need to step up and do better . in order for me to stay in this pre-ap class i need to kearn how to manage it with all my other classes i took on a big task with taking ap classes but i need to suck it up and learn to fix that problem and make a schedule for all my work so i won't be so stressed out. i know i have slacked out the past couple of weeks i got fed up with all my classes and then i've missed school & didn't learn important stuff but i have had a wake up call & i am going to give all my effort just like i did at the beginning of the year.
ReplyDeleteI agree with developing a schedule to make time management much more efficient and increase productivity.
DeleteI wouldn't stand it being in a regular class. There's too many people that don't care and it would ruin my learning environment.
DeleteA pre-ap class is a uptempo class where everything should be done in a reasonable amount of time. The work load and the effort that a student is willing to put into their work makes a class pre-ap. Pre-ap class is a class where everything is not handed to you on a silver platter. You have to earn the grade that you would like to get. Through your work effort and time. If you are thinking on going to college, then a pre-ap class is a good stepping stone for that. As a student, you are obligated to learn the material that is being taught in order to get a good grade. People in college are expected to do this. I should stay in pre-ap class because I can handle the work. I havent been in a regular class at all and im not going to start now. If I am having trouble with anything, I will come to tutorials, try to ask questions in class, ask my classmates if they can give me a hand on things. I need to organize my time and use it wisely. If I am having trouble with something, I need to be able to recognize it ahead of time and not wait until a day or even a few minutes before a major test.
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my time wisely too!!
DeletePre-AP is an advanced placement course for students to help begin preparing for college and is designed to be a rigorous preparation for AP courses. Students enrolled in Pre-AP are expected to be hard workers who recognize the importance of a college education. The class is intended to be challenging, but the benefits to students with preparation for an actual college class. One year in high school is one semester in college , and sense we are covering more material than the regular class we will be more likely to succeed when we get to college. I know for sure I would be more successful if I was to do extra studying and maybe forming some study groups to help. If Saturday school is still going on I will attend to do any reviews or make up work to get more familiar with any new lesson.
ReplyDeleteA PreAP class, is a class for students who are outstanding in a regular class and feel they could handle a bit more of a challenge. PreAp is also a step before or a preparatory class for an AP class. PreAp classes are defined by the higher level of comprehension and thought process skills required. PreAP differs from the regular program because in a PreAP class students are expected to work at a faster pace, they are to comprehend topics a lot faster and complete a bigger workload than the students in regular classes. Benefits of being in a PreAP class are that you are being prepared for an AP or college level class and also receive a grater grade point average than those students in regular classes. I think i deserve to remain in the PreAP physics because I am sure I can excel if I put my mind to it. I have demonstrated in other PreAP and AP classes that I can handle the learning pace and high level thought process required for those classes. PreAP physics is the only class I seem to be falling behind in, and I understand I have brought this on myself for not managing my time as well as I could and not making the effort to stay after school when having doubts on a topic. I am starting by making that effort needed to make sure I master any topic that is presented and stay after school when I am needing that extra help.
ReplyDeleteI was falling behind with physics too, so what I did was look over my journal that is filled with notes and do some practice questions over the topics that I was having trouble with, it helped somewhat.
DeletePreAp is a class that prepares you for higher level learning courses that we will take later on in college. These classes are for the students who go above expectations set up by the recommended plan of graduation. These are the students who care about their future and want good grades. They try hard to meet all the expectations needed to be in the class and are dedicated to doing good. A PreAp class consists of a higher education and more in depth learning of a certain subject. These classes require more work to practice and master the content more efficiently. In a regular level class, you need the basics to take a test in the end of a semester, compared to a PreAp class you learn the subject to help you in other classes you will take in the future. The benefits of being in a PreAp class is that you get better quality of learning and are around an environment of kids with more compatible qualities that you have. The environment is often more calm and the conversations go more into depth. It also gives you a better experience of how college classes will be and it prepares you for them. Also it gives you higher GPA points which boost your rank and GPA. I want to stay in PreAp classes because I think I have worked hard these past years maintaining my grades at a good point. Although I have slacked off a little this year, I know I can get my grades back up if I study more efficiently. I have the potential to be in this class and can have motivation as well. I think if I learned better studying skills I can do good in this class. I am willing to stay after school to tutoring more often and complete my work efficiently and study before tests. I will also take the initiative to ask for help or look something up when I dont understand. I am willing to stay in PreAp because I have come along way just to give up my junior year. My new goal is to study and do better in this class to pursuit my future career plans
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Emberth, we need to study more!!
DeleteSame here! Have to study more lol
DeleteI need to stop procrastinating and study more. I agree with you Emberf, we should start studying more and staying after school
DeleteA PreAP class is a level above a Regular class. These types of courses help us prepare for AP/DC and even college. What makes a PreAP class? The students who are willing to have a bit more of a challenge, tend to think at a higher level, and feel as if a Regular course is at a slower pace. The benefits of being in a PreAP course is a Regular course doesn't give as much grade points as a PreAP course, and I feel like PreAP is a bit more of an advantage. We are expected to meet your expectations and work till the last days of school. As I have stated, PreAP courses give more of an amount of grade points and you can feel comfortable settling for more instead of settling for the bare minimum. I should continue to be in this PreAP course because I have tried to maintain my grade at at least an 85 or above. My grades mean a lot to me and I would not like to be moved down. When I don't understand material, I usually turn to my study group and they explain the material to me. I am willing to stay after school more often to master the material we are learning in class. I will also be more attentive and use outside sources to help me. I will definitely change my study habits and ask questions when I do not understand a concept.
ReplyDeletePre-ap means to have advanced skills and have greater sense of cognitive thinking. The way I compare a regular class to a pre-ap class is by a pre-ap class learning the same thing as a regular class but at a faster pace and having more expectations from the students. Some benefits of being in a pre-ap class are getting more opportunities than others, having a lower class range, and the standards of the grades are managed differently by giving more points to a pre-ap student. I should continue in a pre-ap class because I always turn in my work in time and i take good notes in my journal. I may not be the smartest person but I sure do try and when I miss a class or don't understand something I go for tutoring after school. The way to be more successful in a pre-ap class is by taking notes and actually studying them at home, always do the homework because it's great review time, and also listen to the teacher when she teaches something new or anytime.
ReplyDeleteWell, pre ap is a class to be on the top of its game somewhere we are not to be constantly reminded to do hw or how we're to act. People in regular are usually taken step by step in whatever they re doing. They have less work and less he because they do that inclass that's why they take longer and pre are expected to do things out of class without being reminded to study. The benefits of being in pre ap are great not only because you don't have to sit and wait around for people who don't put an effort iin their education or that they like to fool around but being in pre a is worth more than regular when it comes to your GPA and having a good GPAcan get you far. I do I realize I have bee lacking in doing my hw and when I don't understand I don't like to ask questions I need to cone more to tutorials and do my hw specially bloging
ReplyDeletePre-AP means(in my aspect) a higher level in which students are classified accordingly regarding their capability on retaining and understanding information at a quicker level rather than those in regular classes but its also more than just that it also refers to the aspiration a certain student has to be successful in school. Those classes (pre-AP) are for those who want to accomplish more than just the bare minimum, for those who actually care about their standing point regarding gpa and rank. Pre-AP classes and regular classes are incomparable. The expectations(conduct & mentality) in a pre-AP class are way higher because those in that class are considered greater than those in regular. Most if not all regular student are the ones that aren't expected much from. Then showing up is enough, mihht sound cruel but sometimes its the reality of it, pre-ap is setting you up for a higher mentality to fixate it on college level courses, not only on the work load but also on time management. The benefits of being in a pre-ap class are it enhances your brain to think at a higher level it expands your brain learning capacity. It also prepares you for higher level classes whether it be DC or AP regarding time management. Pre-AP classes also help you with your gpa and enhance your rank. In order to stay in pre-ap I'm willing to actually ask for help because quite frankly I don't fully comprehend some portions of what we have learned. I dint really ask for help because sometimes I'm embarrassed to admit I don't get it I feel like ill be the only one that doesn't and I don't want to be looked at awkwardly. I'm also willing to attend most if not all possible opportunities of tutorials. I'm also willing to attempt hw even if I don't comprehend it completely so the teacher can help me where ever my weak point is at. Something I need to change is my mentality I need to focus more on physics and organizing my time and use it more effeciently because honestly physics is really intriguing some how and it really makes my brain think more and that's good it exercises my brain and helps and enhances my mathematical skills
ReplyDelete1. Pre-AP means pre-advanced placement meaning that your a step above regular classes giving a little more extra work and requirements. Pre-AP classes require more academic work and homework and move at a more faster pace than a regular class.
ReplyDelete2.The benefits of being in a Pre-AP classes are to challenge yourself more and get higher grade points to boost your GPA.
3. I want to continue in Pre-AP classes because I feel it gives me a little more of a challenge and it helps boosts my GPA to help my rank to get into a good college.
I understand I can be behind in my classwork and to change this I can come to you for help if needed but most of all manage my time and keep up with my work in order to keep up my grades.
Pre-Ap is an advance placement class for students who are willing to take a challenge and are committed to do all the hard work that comes with it. In the Pre-Ap class we learn the subject in a faster pace and its our responsibility to make sure we understand the information that is given to us while in a regular class its harder to move on when there's a lot of students still struggling to comprehend what is going on in the class. The benefits of being in a pre-ap class is that, with a passing grade, it helps out your rank and gpa more than a passing grade in a regular class. The reason why I should continue being in this pre-ap class is because I am willing to push myself to understand the material.I take the opportunities there is when I need help on a certain thing that we learned. The after school tutorials and the saturday school has really helped me understand some things I was still confused about. I understand that I've been having some difficulty on certain things but I know that if I really want to get more successful I have to study outside of school and ask a lot of questions on the unit that has me confused.
ReplyDeletePre-ap to me is a class a step above a regular class. It prepares you for AP and/or DC classes. They give you more homework and assignments. They also move at a faster pace than a regular class and require you to work harder and put more time and effort into the class. They are also for a higher GPA. I want to be in a pre-ap class because I feel I'm up to the level for it. A regular class would move too slow for me and I know I can take the work for a more advanced class. I am willing to do all my work and study. I will stay after school if needed and will ask for help when I don't understand something. I need to start putting more time and effort to be able to keep my grade up.
ReplyDeleteTo me, a PreAp class is a class designated for students who are more willing to actually do their work, homework, and lay attention during class. It is a little more advanced than a Regular class, but we still end up learning the same, just at a faster pace. The benefits of being in a PreAp class are that you are surrounded by people who want to learn and not just goof off, so you get a better learning enviroment than in a Regular class, and also you get more grade points.. I am in PreAp classes because I like to challenge myself, and I feel as if I was in a regular class that I wouldn't really learn. PreAp classes require you to study and stay after school if you are having troubles, you must manage your time in order to get all the assignments and homeworks done. I need to start managing my time more wisely and also not procrasting as much as I do now.
ReplyDeleteI need to stop procrastinating it takes up the time that's need for work that must be done.
DeletePre-AP is obviously an advanced course that within in it involves fast coverage of material and topics. We make the transition from units very rapidly, and this is the fundamental aspect that differentiates the regular class and Pre-AP. Id say the benefits of being a part of the Pre-AP program is that you navigate through the high paced, challenging road that towards the end provides you with some experience that'll benefit you at other higher learning institutions. I believe that i should remain in this class because so far I've kept my average high, attended after school sessions to fix and resolve all my academic issues and have done all i can to maintain my average high. I may further acquire success by reviewing old material and keep analyzing the new concepts we learn to facilitate the process of maintaing the material in our heads.
ReplyDeleteIt helps us learn better, of course, but boosts us in our GPA as well.
DeletePre-Ap are pre advanced courses. In pre-ap class there is more material at a faster pace. The difference is the amount of work and time we take on learning information. The benefits of pre-ap is tt you get to learn at a highe thinking level. I'm in pre-ap class to challenge myself with regular I could do all my the work in the first few minutes. To help further understand concepts I will review over information and remember to do homework.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think a class that is challenging is good for students. It is more work and its at a much faster pace but with the help from tutorials this class should be a breeze. there will be things that you might not understand but with practice its possible.
DeletePre-Ap means Pre- advanced placement
ReplyDeleteWhat makes a Pre-Ap class Pre-Ap is how the class is ran and the way we learn things
Pre-Ap is a step above regular classes but a step below an Ap class. It's more challenging than a regular class. Much more is expected in a Pre-Ap class. Although it is more challenging it has its benefits. Being more challenging, a Pre-Ap class gives a higher GPA scale than that of a regular class. You also learn more in depth about the concept being taught. This benefits me rank wise and also in learning physics. To be more successful in this class I need to look over homework and notes in order to understand better
nice ;)
Delete1.PreAP means Pre advanced placement. The class learns at a faster pace then regular. A PreAP class prepares you for a college class. PreAP gets a higher GPA ranking.
ReplyDelete2. A benefit from being in PreAP is that PreAP gets a higher GPA ranking.
3. I should stay in PreAP because in a regular class there are more distraction, like people talking more. I feel that I can learn at a faster pace than normal and that's another reason why I should stay in PreAp. I am willing to do tutorials and extra credit to be able to stay in PreAP. To be more successful I need to set up a reminder to do homework so i don't forget to turn it in.
I agree most people in regular classes tend to not take things seriously and they are more distracting.
DeletePre-Ap classes are the pre advanced classes needed to take an Ap Class. Pre-ap is a step further than regular classes. These classes are more advanced and go into more detail. The students in these classes plus the level of difficulty are what make it challenging because they care about school. These student compete for their school rank and try to be in the top ten percent so they can get into a good college.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of being in a Pre-Ap class are meeting people that care about school and are above the influence. As well as having a more extensive variety of knowledge to further their education. It also gives you more GPA points than a regular class would.
I believe that I should stay in Pre-Ap classes because I can keep up with the fast pace as well as the challenging work. I would be willing to stay for tutorials to get any extra help that I need.
I agree with staying for tutorials. One on one can help when trying to understand you don't get.
DeleteA PreAp class consists of students that are more focused and dedicated to their classes. PreAp is different from regular classes because we get more homework and we learn more material at a faster pace. The benefits of being in a PreAp vs. a regular class is that you can get a higher GPA. I should remain in a PreAp class because I am hard working and im capable of learning the material at a faster pace. In order to stay in a PreAp class I will stay after school and ask questions on the things I'm confused about. I will also try to take better notes and study at home. I need to stop procrastinating with my homework.
ReplyDeleteA pre ap class is a pre advanced placement class. A pre ap class consists of more complicated material to learn than a regular class. A regular class goes at a much slower pace for the struggling students to comprehend the material. The benefits for an advanced class is challenge and the knowledge that only this class offers and of course a higher GPA. I should remain in the class due to me being able to learn at a fast pace and wanting to keep challenging myself to push my limits. I will make the effort to turn in every assignment which is something I lacked so far this semester. I will stop making up excuses for every incomplete assignment and just do it whether I'm tired or exhausted.
ReplyDeletePreap means its a prep for the ap class and students are taught at a faster pace. You get more credit in a Preap class than in a regular class, plus most people you're around are people who take school serious. I want to continue being in Preap because I feel so dumb and outcasted in regular classes! I try to do my work for the most part and try to do good so I could make myself proud. I guess being in regular classes wouldn't bring any challenge to me. I want to be remembered as someone who took school serious and being in preap classes will help be with that. I'm willing to give all the time needed in order to excel in these classes. I definitely need to study more and not waste valuable time.
ReplyDeletePre-ap is a more challenging class than regular classes because we go more in depth into the subject at a faster pace and it prepares us to be in an Ap class. The credit in a pre-ap class is higher than that of a regular class and when we are in pre-ap classes the people there take the class more seriously. I want to stay in pre-ap because being in a regular class would just feel weird after being in pre-ap classes for so long, I always do my work on time and when i dont understand something i ask you. I take school work seriously when it comes to homework i do it because i know its going to help me out later on. Im willing to stay after school for tutoring which is something i dont normally do, also taking my notebook home when a test is coming to go over it.
ReplyDelete1. Pre-ap is an advanced class where you get taught faster than you would in a regular class. what makes a pre ap class is the type of work and learning pace, its more advanced. compared to regular, again, you get taught at a faster pace and learn a bit more than what regular does.
ReplyDelete2. the benefits of being in pre ap are that if helps you out with your GPA, meaning if you end the semester with a B you would get more GPA points than you would be if you were making the same grade in a regular class.
3. i honestly thought i would be regular but i am willing to study more and also staying after school when i don't understand something i was taught , what i need to change to be successful is the pay very close attention in class and study in order for myself to be successful.
A Pre-AP class means learning at a faster pace and a class higher than a regular class. In a pre-ap class there is more work for the student but it's all for the benefit of us to actually understand what we're learning. Also, advanced look good your record and it helps to raise your GPA. In my opinion being in a pre-ap classes are far more beneficial than being in a regular class because students are more dedicated to their work and succeeding. I feel like recently I've been taking my advanced classes for granted but I strive to actually do my work from now on. Meaning, when I say I'll stay after school I'll actually stay. Studying outside of school and sharing notes with my peers would also help.
ReplyDeletedoing outside notes seems like an idea that some people would be to lazy to do.
DeletePre-Ap is basically a highler level of learning and at a faster pace. Not as much work is given in a regular class compared to a pre-AP class. This helps us take a further step in our education whether it be going to AP/DC or even college. Also, you get more points for your GPA. My work ethic hasn't been good at all so far, but it will change now because I want to have a better future and be able to go to college.
ReplyDeletePre-ap is a high level than regular class. you have to learn about things faster because they expect you to know it faster. in regular class you preobably get half of the stuff we get in preap. pre ap classes help ur GPA get much better. And right now I aint doing so hot in your class but im trying to change that! I need to pass your class!
ReplyDeleteTo me pre-AP means that you are considered to be ready for a bigger challenge than just the regular course curriculum. It means that you take an extra step forward and take the challenge to have more work. You're taking an extra step to learn more and get a higher rank. It's different from a regular lass bc in regular you only cover the basics. Being in this class benefits because you receive higher GPA points because you are learning more it means you are a step closer to being ready for college. I deserve to stay in this class because I try to understand and yes I may ask too many questions at times but it's to better understand things. I know I have the capacity to do good in this class. I have good grades and I think I have a chance at successfully passing the pre-AP course. I also want to stay in this class because I have been looking into engineering and I want to get to know as much about physics as possible to better my chances of making it as an engineer.
ReplyDeleteAlso I am willing to stay more after school, ask more questions and go over my notes. Also talking with my classmates will help because sometimes we better understand the way other people explain things.
DeleteTo me pre-ap means that were being challenged more by those who think we can do better in life. The better we succeed at a tougher challenge the more equip we can become for the real world. I think a good idea to do better would be to perform some kind of activities that are like competitions that would keep everyone involved and to force their selves to do better.
ReplyDeletePre-AP means that you are willing to try harder. We are being challenged more. The lessons we are taught go by faster and expect us to learn it faster. The amount of work will never really be small. I understand that for the past few weeks I have not been putting much effort but that is changing. I want to continue being classified as a PreAp student therefore I will study my notes, complete all assignments and ask questions.
ReplyDeletePreAP means pre-advanced placement which prepares you for the ap class. You learn at a faster paste and you go more in depth rather than in a regular class. The benefits is that you get more gpa points for a better class rank & gpa. I should stay in preap because I am a fast learner. I admit I'm a procrastinator, but I really am trying to get out of that habit. I'm not happy with my grade as of now and the only person I can blame is myself for not pushing myself hard enough. For letting myself slack. But that all ends today. I will step up my game.
ReplyDeleteLike Nidia i also procrastinate and I also agree that I should push myself harder so that I know I will be successful in the class.
DeletePre-Ap is considered an advanced class that's one step ahead of a regular class. In regular level classes you work at a slower pace and do less in class work and home work than you would do in a pre-ap class. Some benefits of having a pre-ap class would be having a other grade point average and also It helps you start to prepare for college. I should continue in my pre-ap class because It helps my GPA and It helps me to work harder at what I want to become successful. I am willing to come to tutorials, Work harder In and outside of class, attend Saturday school and study more often and harder. I need to study a lot more and attend tutorials In order to become successful.
ReplyDeletePre-ap is an advanced coarse but not as advanced as AP it gives you a taste of college classes would be like. I was in a regular classes for about two weeks. It was way different than pre ap classes. It took no effort to pass the class. In pre ap there is more of a challenge. In a regular class teachers don't go as much into detail like a pre ap teacher would. A pre ap class goes more in debt. I should remain in pre ap physics because I am ambitious and enthusiatic about science and math combined which makes physics. To be more successful in class I should turn more of my homework in an study a hundred time harder.
ReplyDeleteDepth* I put debt
DeletePreAP means you got to be able to put more time into the work you're doing and get it right. Well a PreAP class, first of all means that you were put in their because you are dedicated to doing you're work and understand the things being thought faster than a person in a regular class.
ReplyDeleteThe benefits of being in a PreAP class than a regular class is that your GPA will be higher than a person in regular and your ranking would be higher than a person in regular .
What I am willing to do is start going to either after school tutoring or saturday school. I will ask questions whenever their is something I don't understand and try studying more so it will be easily understandable. And what I need to change is the way I do things, like studying. I will need to practice some problems I don't fully understand. And the way I take notes, I will have to write my notes in a way to where I can easily remember them and not just have them their.
I need to practice too!
DeleteAnd I don't know if this helps but I like writing my notes with uncommon colors like green or purple instead of the usual and dull black and blue.
Pre-AP to me meant that i'm in a Pre advanced placement class, that it prepares me for the AP Course. I know that in order to be placed in a AP class I must pass Pre-AP. A Pre-AP class is much faster than a regular class, it covers more than a regular class. Another thing is that it is expected to keep up with the class because it does move at a much faster pace. A Pre-AP gives you a little more work than a regular class. To me a benefit of being a Pre-AP student is that it lets me be in organizations like SNHS. in order to be in that organization you must have a certain GPA and a Pre-AP or a AP class to get admitted. Another thing could be that if I do well in the class it could help my GPA because its a Pre-AP class. If I was in regular I wouldn't be able to be part of SNHS. I have never been placed in regular, to me that isn't good. I'm sorry but it makes me feel dumb & I know I can do better. Besides like I had said it does teach at a slower pace. I wish to continue in Pre-AP because I need to be challenged, I want to learn as much as I can. I may have my ups and downs but I will always try to do my best. Pre-AP is a class that I must take to continue to be a member of SNHS. This class will help me now prepare for a AP classes in college. I do realize that this isn't even hard compared to college. I have to succeed in this class and do my best. I belong in the class because I think that at the pace we move is good and its not as hard as I may think sometimes. I'm willing to stay afterschool and work on anything that has to get done. I would even attend Saturday school if I have to. My grade in Pre-AP class is very important to me & I will do what it takes. I need to make more time to study and review for this class.
ReplyDeleteTo be in preAP it means that you are willing to do more than average student and you are willing to do more work on your own than in a regular class. It is more work but it is only to your benefit. You move faster like in a college class and if you do choose to go to college we will not be surprised at how fast pace the class is. And to me the only valid argument is that it is better preparing me for college. I want to major in Civil Engineering and just like physics there are a lot of formulas involved with it and it is the only way to better prepare me for my future occupation. I am willing to spend more time on physics because so far that is what has been holding me back. With not going to physics everyday I need to put in the time everyday to make sure I am understanding the concepts of the class. The block scheduling has caused me to need to develop more "college like" habits.
ReplyDeleteYour so right about the adapting to block scheduling . It has been a problem for me. I have yet to adapt.
DeleteSorry to be late i just saw this Mrs.Shramm but preAP means that its some sort of advanced class. what makes a preAp class a preAP class would be that preAP is goes more in detail into the subject. last but not least preAP is compared to regular would be shown as a harder class too the amount of info we get out of every thing in preAP.
ReplyDelete2. you get more credits than in regular
3.I should continue to be in preAP because i am a hard worker when needed I'm not saying I'm the smartest but i get the job done. i am willing to do what it takes to stay in preAP. I would need to study more to be more successful in school
In Pre-AP, the class is more difficult and challenging.Compared to regular, the class goes at a much quicker pace and goes more in depth than what regular classes do. The benefits of being in a Pre-AP class is that there's actually the chance that something can be difficult and that you may need help on or study which can improve your study habits and understanding unlike in regular where it seems that you're being held by the hand. The GPA boost is a great bonus as well. I'll study harder and when I don't understand something, ask. Or if I'm at home, Google it up. I'm gonna stay after school to get my homework done faster.Honestly, another thing I need to change about my habits is that I should stop focusing and panicking way too much on one class, and start distributing my focus equally to all my classes. I also need to check with myself and see if I understand the stuff. If I don't, I need to get assistance. Although I'm terribly weird (and other stuff) I know I can do this and up my grades to ones that I'm happy with.
ReplyDeletePre- ap is just a step below an AP class which means one step before a college class. This is a classroom environment that is helping us get ready for the real world experiences of college. This is meant for students that learn faster and comprehend it as well. The benefits are endless because we are actually getting prepared and at the same time we are taking on a challenge that is very possible to suceed in. I was put in this class for the very reason of comprhending material and doing my work , but as im showing typing this blod a month after it was due shows how i been lacking. I apologize because I can and will do better ! Second semester will be the be best in test scores . I am going to step up my game and study and even get a group. This has been a wake up call.
